Biography

Richard S. Stansbury is an associate professor of computer engineering and computer science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His research interests include unmanned aircraft systems, aviation big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, NextGen technologies such as ADS-B, and engineering education. At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he has conducted studies for the FAA and NASA regarding UAS regulations and the technological issues of UAS integration into the National Airspace System. He serves as the ERAU site director and principal investigator for the ASSURE FAA Center of Excellence in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. He has also been involved in the development of the Gale UAS, an unmanned aircraft designed for operation within tropical cyclones. He teaches Mobile Application Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Structures and Algorithms, and previously Senior Design.
